Health Certificates for Pet Travel

✈️ Pet Travel & Health Certificates

Start Here for International & Interstate Pet Travel

We look forward to helping you and your pet prepare for travel! If you are traveling internationally or to a state with animal health requirements, your pet may need an official USDA-endorsed Health Certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian.

🐾 Important: It is the pet owner’s responsibility to come fully prepared to your health certificate appointment.

✅ Step 1: Research Destination Requirements

Each destination—whether a foreign country or U.S. state—has its own specific requirements, timelines, and documentation needs.
Before requesting an appointment, please follow these steps:

🔗 Use this tool: www.flywithmypet.com

  • Enter your travel details to see all the health certificate requirements organized by timeline.
  • Take a screenshot or download the timeline and requirements—these will need to be uploaded to your appointment request below.

💡 Important Tip: Some countries require vaccines, microchipping, or treatments weeks to months in advance—start early!

📞 Step 2: Contact the Right Authorities

Because requirements vary widely, we recommend confirming details with:

  • Your destination country’s consulate or agricultural authority
  • USDA-APHIS Veterinary Services (they endorse the final health certificate)

  • Your airline, as airlines often have specific crate sizes, documentation, or timing requirements for pets.

📆 Step 3: Request an Appointment

Once you have collected all necessary information and determined when your certificate must be issued:

  1. Submit a Health Certificate Intake Form (linked below).
  2. Upload your destination’s travel requirements/timeline from FlyWithMyPet.
  3. Our staff will review your request and contact you to schedule your exam at the appropriate time based on your travel needs.

⚠️ Additional Notes

  • We do not guarantee approval or same-day scheduling.
  • Rabies vaccines and microchips must meet destination requirements—check timelines!
  • For multi-pet households, please submit a form for each pet.
  • Health certificates are time-sensitive. Missing a travel window may require restarting the process.
